# Introduction

Blockchain oracles serve as bridges between smart contracts and the outside world, feeding external information to on-chain applications. Traditional oracles, however, are largely limited to delivering numeric or **raw data feeds** (e.g. asset prices, weather readings) and lack the ability to interpret context or unstructured information. This is a critical gap as emerging decentralized applications increasingly need richer insights – such as understanding if a regulatory change occurred or gauging social media sentiment – rather than just raw numbers. At the same time, the rise of **meme coin traders (“degens”)** and their influence on markets (a sector exceeding **$120B in market capitalization** at its peak) demands oracles that can keep up with fast-moving trends and internet culture.

**Robind** addresses these challenges by introducing an oracle protocol powered by AI and the **Model Context Protocol (MCP)**. MCP is an open standard that enables secure, two-way connections between AI models and data sources. In simple terms, MCP standardizes how real-world context is fed to AI – “like a USB-C port for AI applications” – allowing OracleMind to plug into APIs, databases, websites, and even social media feeds in a uniform way. By embedding this capability into a decentralized network of oracle nodes, OracleMind can **access, understand, and on-board real-world data** (even if it’s unstructured text, images, or complex events) into blockchain systems via AI-driven interpretation.

In summary, OracleMind brings *intelligence* to the oracle layer. Instead of merely relaying data, it uses AI reasoning to translate raw information into actionable insights with cryptographic guarantees. This opens the door for smart contracts that respond not just to numeric price ticks, but to **news events, trending memes, sentiment shifts, and compliance checks** – all in a trust-minimized manner. The sections below detail how OracleMind works and the exciting new use cases it enables.
